REPORT GIVEN TO
The Annual Assembly Meeting
On
By the Chairman of the Parish Council
Cllr Jean Evans
The Chairman of the Parish Council reported as follows:
Earlier in the year the pavilion guttering was vandalised. The local PCSO was at the scene and apprehended some of the culprits. The police took them through the Restorative Justice system and they had an interview with the police, their parents and a representative from the Parish Council. At the meeting compensation was decided and it gave everybody a chance to say how they felt about the incident and what the consequences were. The children involved were very remorseful and it seemed to be a very productive system.
TENNIS COURTS the Parish Council have been involved in a lengthy process to discover why people were slipping on the tennis courts when they were wet. Eventually they were advised that the only solution was to re-surface the courts. The Parish Council has put £11,000 to the project and it is hoped that the tennis club will be successful in trying to get a grant for £10,000 from Sport England.
After being approached by a local resident to put a seat in the bus shelter at the Bache, the Parish Council followed this up and as it was not possible to put in a seat we contacted the CWAC who agreed to add that location to the renewal of bus shelters that was taking place, at no cost to the Parish Council.
Proposal by CWAC to sell County Hall and move to HQ. The Parish Council were unhappy about the lack of consultation and also asked for financial details of the move.
Community Pride Competition looking to increase awareness this year and hopefully get higher marks.
The Village Pump won a Little Gem award in the Community Pride Competition. This area is kindly looked after by Mr & Mrs Ellis who were recently presented with a certificate and small gift from the Parish Council.
