The Parish Council is currently seeking funding to either improve and extend or completely renew the Pavilion building on Wealstone Lane. The vision for the future is to have a sustainable, energy efficient Community Centre that is available and accessible to the whole community. The Centre would offer multi-functional rooms and activities such as children's services, adult learning, activities for older people and health promotional activities. It is hope that local residents and groups will also book the facilities which could be open all year round.

The Equipment Renewal Project at Wealstone Lane children’s play area is now complete, and the fully inclusive roundabout which is being financed by Chester City Council, should be installed in early Spring.

CHEMISTRY PITS PLAY AREA The Parish Council is still continuing to develop the Chemistry Pits field and has now secured funding to enhance with additional trees and shcrubs and will also border the area with woodland flowers. An interpretation sign will also be installed so that visitors to the area will know what to look out for.

A children's play area has been installed within a new development on Caughall Road. This play area is open to all local residents even though it is still in the ownership of the developer. The Parish Council has informed the City Council that it wishes to adopt the play area and maintain it in the future.

The Parish Council has been awarded Quality Parish Council Status.  This means that the Parish Council met the criteria needed to show that it is operating correctly within the law, that its Clerk is qualified and that it is effective in relation to communication with the community.  This award lasts for four years after which time the Parish Council will be re-tested to ensure that it still meets the criteria.

Representatives from the Parish Council have also been involved in meetings with County Highways and Upton High School Govenors, over the last two years or so, to try to solve the problem with school buses in St James Avenue.  The County Highways Department are drawing up a plan to put space for the buses within the school grounds.

The Parish Council has now adopted a 'Publication Scheme' which outlines the documents/records which are available to local residents.
