1. APOLOGIES:
Apologies
were received from Cllr Bryan Smith, Cllr John Cliffe,
Cllr David Capstick and Cllr Patricia Lott.
2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:
No
declarations were received.
3. TO RECEIVE A PRESENTTION BY HAYLEY NODEN:
Hayley Noden addressed the meeting to ask support
for her idea to put on an Annual Carnival in
Cllr
Robert Thompson asked what she felt the Parish Council could do. Mrs Noden stated
that she just wanted support, comments, views and the use of the playing fields
for the event.
Resolved: that Members wholeheartedly supported the idea and asked that
Mrs Noden liase with the Clerk as things progressed.
4. REPORT ON PLAY AREAS:
The
Clerk reported that there were no problems with the play areas and that there was
still further improvement in grounds maintenance. She did report on an email from the Youth
Club with regard to litter and broken glass around the teen shelter and
five-a-side area at the rear of the Youth Club but stated that the attendant
responsible for rubbish collection had been on annual leave, but that the other
attendants had not reported any increase in litter.
The
Clerk reported that she had received a quotation of £600 for the removal of the
road roller at the play area. Cllr Phil Pearn suggested that the Christleton
Crocky Trail may be interested. The Chairman reported that she would get in
touch with them.
5. CHEMISTRY PITS PLAY AREA:
The
Clerk reported that she had received a reply from the Solicitors stating that
it was unlikely that the Parish Council would gain ownership of this piece of
land.
The
Chairman reported on the visit recently between some Members, the Clerk and Lee
Greenhough of Cheshire Wildlife Trust to the wildlife
area created at Moston. She said that the area was very successful,
especially the benches which were made from recycled plastic. She also said that the wildlife area at
Chemistry Pits with some definition to the edging and perhaps a species sign
could be just as successful.
Resolved: that the reports be noted.
The
Clerk reported that the one bollard for the entrance by the Youth Club had been
received and that the contractor ha been asked to install it. She reported that the cost of one bollard
with installation was in the region of around £150/160. Members felt that the decision to install further
bollards by the Pavilion should be decided when the budget figures for next
year became clearer.
7. BUDGET REQUIRMENTS FOR 2006/07:
Members
discussed the budget requirements for the Committee. The Clerk reported on the update with regard
funding for the Wealstone Lane Play Area Equipment
project.
Resolved: that the attached budget be put to the Finance Committee.
