Fields Committee of the

1. APOLOGIES:
Apologies
were received from Cllr Gill Jordan,
Cllr Jean Evans, Cllr Theresa Bartliff and Cllr Chris Reeve
2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:
No
declarations of interest were received.
3. REPORT ON PLAY AREAS:
The Clerk reported on the play areas owned and
managed by the Parish Council. She told
Members that everything was fine except for Chemistry Pits where there was
water lying on the footpath following the recent downpour.
Resolved: that
the Clerk obtain a quotation amending the pathway to stop it flooding.
4. POSSIBILITY OF ADDITIONAL NEW PLAY EQUIPMENT:
The
Clerk reported that there was funding available from the City Council’s
contributions to play areas in parished areas.
Cllr Jill Houlbrook told members that there may also be funding
available from the Area Committee and also from a Commuted Sum also held by the
City council. Members discussed the type of equipment that might be suitable
for older children and that could be installed in the main field area. As available funding would only amount to
around £10,000, it was felt that a wooden fitness trail would be ideal as no
safety surfacing was needed and that some could be installed now and more added
on at a later date.
Resolved: (a) that the Clerk
contact two play equipment companies to get
suggestions and quotations for fitness trail
equipment for £10,000.
(b) that the Clerk contact the Area Committee with regard to
funding from its budget and also to get details of the commuted sum available..
5. CORRESPONDENCE:
The Clerk presented the
final draft of the new signs for Play Areas.
Resolved: that the Clerk confirm the order of the signs with
the minor amendments.
