UPTON BY CHESTER & DISTRICT PARISH COUNCIL

Meeting of the Planning Committee of the Upton by Chester & District Parish Council held on Monday 1st September 2008 at The Pavilion, Wealstone Lane, Upton, Chester.

Present:          Cllr David Evans (Chairman), Cllr David Captick, Cllr Jean Evans, Cllr Gerald Grant, Cllr Gill Jordan, Cllr Pat Lott, Cllr Paul Lowry and Cllr Robert Thompson.

 

1.        APOLOGIES:

Apologies were received from, Cllr Mil Williams.

 

2.         DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:

Cllr David Evans and Cllr Jean Evans declared an interest in item f on the agenda.

 

3.         TO CONSIDER PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

 

a.         7 Kingsmead – Removal of existing UPVC conservatory and replacement with single storey extension.

 

            No objection

 

b.         6 Egerton Drive – Garage, bedroom, en-suite extension

 

            No objection

 

c.         100 Weston Grove – Single dwelling with attached garage and new access to Cross Green.

 

                                                Members object on the grounds of over-intensive development.

If this is repeated across the parish it would have a detrimental impact.

 

d.         15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22 Simpson Road, Moston – Demolition of single storey utility extensions and replace with two storey extensions.

 

            No objection

 

e.         Gralins, 27 Heath Road – Single storey extension to rear of building.

 

            No objection

 

f.          1 St Christophers Close – Convert existing garage to habitable room, raise level of existing roof and loft conversion.

 

            No objection,s but members are concerned that the height of the new roof might not be inkeeping with other properties.

 

g.         38 Acres Lane – Kitchen utility extension, enlarged lounge, detached garage with storeroom over.

 

            Members object on the grounds that the garage extends beyond the building line and it is not aesthetically pleasing with a large blank gable end.  There is also a potential hazzard of interference of sight lines for exit from the school.

 

h.         Countess of Chester Hospital – Reserved matters for the siting, design and external appearance of the equipment housing building for the primary sub-station accosication with the housing and business park.

 

            Members have no objections, but would like to draw attention to the fact that vehiclar access is shown from Deva Lane, which is a private road.  Do they have permission?  Why is the access not through the business park?
