UPTON BY CHESTER & DISTRICT PARISH COUNCIL

Meeting of the Planning Committee of the Upton by Chester & District Parish Council held on Monday 30th June 2008 at The Pavilion, Wealstone Lane, Upton, Chester.

Present:          Cllr David Evans (Chairman), Cllr David Captick, Cllr Jean Evans, Cllr Gerald Grant, Cllr Pat Lott and Cllr Mil Williams.

 

1.        APOLOGIES:

Apologies were received from, Cllr Paul Lowry, Cllr Robert Thompson and Cllr Gill Jordan.

 

2.         DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:

No declarations of interest were received.

.           TO CONSIDER PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

 

a.         37 Acres Lane – Fell T2 (Unknown) and T1 (unknown

 

            No objection but would like to see a replacement tree in a more suitable location.

 

b.         32 Upton park – fell 1 holly and 1 hawthorn and remove dead tree

 

            Maintenance of the continuous hedge is a key feature of this conservation area and members feel there is no good reasons given for the removal of two trees which could be cut back instead.  Members have no objection to the removal of the dead tree.

 

            c.         Upton Golf Club – 7m High ball stop fence extending 18m in length

 

                        No objection

 

            d.         OS field number 7743 Picton Gorse – Construction of portal framed dry

fodder and machinery store  (Neighbouring parish council)

 

No objection

           

            e.         13 Oakfield Drive – Single storey side extension

 

Members are concerned about the loss of possible parking spaces and wonder if there will be adequate spaces for the size of the development.

 

            f.          48 Mill Lane – First floor extension and new vehicular access.

 

No objections so long as the new development does not exceed permitted limits.  Would also like any further permitted developments rights removed.

 

            g.         Mercedes Benz Garage – New signage

 

Members object as they feel it is unnecessary clutter which will cause a distraction to drivers.
