ANNUAL MEETING of the Upton by Chester and District Parish Council held

on Monday 15^th May 2006, at The Pavilion, Wealstone Lane, Upton, Chester

PRESENT:

Cllr. Jean Evans (Chairman), Cllr Theresa Bartliff, Cllr Lindsay Cussons,

Cllr David Evans, Cllr. Peter Griffiths, Cllr Jill Houlbrook, Cllr Pat Lott,

Cllr Caroline Mosley, Cllr Chris Reeve, Cllr. Bryan Smith, Cllr Liz Squire

and Cllr Robert Thompson

1. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN:

Cllr Jill Houlbrook moved Cllr Jean Evans for Chairman for the ensuing year. This motion was seconded by Cllr Caroline Mosley. No other nominations were received. Members voted 11 for and 1 against.

2. CHAIRMAN’S DECLARATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF OFFICE:

Resolved: that the Declaration be received.

3. OPEN FORUM:

A number of local residents presented the Parish Council with a petition against the proposal to put a footpath across the green in Gatesheath Drive. The Clerk reported that she had also received another petition and also emails and telephone calls with the same views. The Chairman thanked the local residents for their comments and advised that their views would be taken into account when the Parish Council considered the matter.

A local resident reported to the meeting that she was concerned that the County Council had repaired a verge outside 127 St James Avenue and that the damage had been caused by the delivery of garage doors to the same address by a large vehicle. She told Members that she would like to kn
