Meeting of the Environment Committee

1. APOLOGIES:
Resolved: Apologies were received from Cllr John Butler and Cllr Theresa Bartliff,
2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:
No
declarations of interest were received.
3. REPORT ON PLAY
AREAS:
The Clerk reported on the play areas owned and
managed by the Parish Council. The Clerk
also reported that some repairs were required at Wealstone
Lane Play Area.
Resolved: (a) that the reports be noted.
(b) that the Clerk
arrange for the works to be completed.
4. BENCH FOR BUS SHLETER AT THE BACHE:
Members
discussed the cost of installing a bench in the shelter. Cllr Robert Thompson suggested relinquishing
the shelter to the Borough Council.
Resolved: that the Clerk make enquires of the Borough Council.
5. ALLOTMENTS:
Members considered the
information obtained by the Clerk and the likely costs
involved. Members felt that the Parish Council did not
have the finance for such a
scheme but that the Borough
Council should be informed of the response from local
residents for allotments in the area.
Resolved: that the contact the Borough Council.
The Clerk reported that she had been advised by Highways that there should be no legal problem with regard to marking out a pedestrian walkway across the car park. Members discussed the possible location for this.
Resolved: (a) that the
Clerk speak to the Doctors Surgery with regard to the positioning of the
walkway markings.
7. TREES
AT
Members
discussed the information given by the Tree Officer. Members had concerns about
the ownership of the trees.
Resolved: that the
Clerk obtain information about the ownership of the trees.
8. REQUEST
FROM
The
Clerk reported that Chester Road Club who use the
field at
Resolved: that the
Clerk obtain the necessary information.
9. REPRESENTATIVE
FOR THE COMMUNITY PRIDE PRIZE-GIVING:
Resolved: that
either Cllr John Butler of Cllr Robert Thompson would represent the Parish
Council.
10. CORRESPONDENCE:
Members
considered a letter received from Upton Tennis Club with regard the tennis courts. Members felt that further information should
be sought before any decisions were made.
Resolved: that
the Clerk obtain further information.
The
Clerk also reported that she had received a telephone call from a resident in Daleside with regard to problems of youths camping and
being noisy until the early hours of the morning, on the field adjacent to Daleside. The Clerk
reported that she had informed the Police.
Resolved: that the
Clerk also inform the PCSO and Community Wardens.
