Meeting of the Parish
Communications Committee of the
Present: Cllr Chris Reeve
(Chairman), Cllr. Jean Evans, Cllr Miljenko Williams and
Cllr John Butler.
Also present: Alan Kevern (Local resident)

APOLOGIES:
Apologies were received from Cllr Theresa Bartliff, Cllr Paul Lowry
and Cllr David Evans.
Resolved: that the apologies be noted.
2. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN FOR ENSUING YEAR:
Cllr John Butler proposed Cllr Chris Reeve as
Chairman for the Committee, this was seconded by Cllr
Jean Evans. No other nominations were
received.
Resolved: that Cllr Chris Reeve be elected Chairman of the Committee for
the ensuing year.
3. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:
No
declarations of interest were received.
4. BOOKLET
OF ACTIVITIES IN
The Chairman welcomed Mr Kevern
to the meeting and confirmed that the Parish Council had agreed with the idea
of creating a booklet of groups and activities in the
Asking profit making groups in the area to
contribute for inclusion
Asking companies in the area to advertise
Requesting a grant from Area Committee.
Members also discussed the type of information the
booklet should contain. Cllr Mil
Williams said that he felt that the information contained should be checked for
accuracy before printing is done and Cllr John butler said that it should be
updated regularly, perhaps yearly. It
was suggested that an item be put in the next newsletter to ask residents for
suggestions and also ask for members of the community to get involved with the
creation of the booklet.
Resolved: (a) that
an item be put in the next newsletter.
(b) that the Clerk
investigate the cost of advertising in other similar publications.
5. ITEMS FOR INCLUSION IN NEXT NEWSLETTER:
Members
discussed Item items for inclusion in the next newsletter as follows:
Pavilion Project update, including
results of the questionnaire.
Best Kept Garden Comeptition
being cancelled.
Equipment for
older children.
Annual Parish Service being resumed.
New signs for Play Areas
Interpretation Sign for Wild life
Area at Chemistry Pits Play Area.
Two Member Parish
Council Members.
Idea of Booklet of
activities in the
Village Quiz
Wheatsheaf Inn – smoking shelter.
Retirement of butcher on Weston
Grove
Closure of petrol
station on Long Lane.
Damage to
It
was suggested that some Members not present at the meeting be asked to write up
some of the articles.
6. DEADLINE FOR ITEMS:
Resolved: that items be with the Clerk by Mionday
11th August 2008
7. METHOD OF PRINTING:
Resolved: that the printing be done by the Police Headquarters Print
Unit.
8. METHOD OF DISTRIBUTION:
Resolved: that the Standard Newspaper be used for distribution.
9. DATE OF NEXT MEETING:
Resolved: that the date be set at a later date.
