UPTON BY CHESTER & DISTRICT PARISH COUNCIL

 

Meeting of the Parish Communications Committee of the Upton by Chester & District Parish Council held on Monday 15th August 2005, at the Pavilion on Wealstone Lane, Upton

 

Present:          Cllr. Phil Pearn (Chairman), Cllr. Jean Evans, Cllr Chris Reeve and Cllr Robert Thompson.

 

1.                  APOLOGIES:

 

Apologies were received from Cllr. Caroline Mosley, Cllr John Cliffe, Cllr Gill Jordan and Cllr Geoff Edwards.

 

Resolved:       that the apologies be noted.

 

2.                  TO ELECT A CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMITTEE:

 

Cllr Jean Evans moved that Cllr Phil Pearn be elected Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing year.  This was seconded by Cllr Robert Thompson.  No further nominations were received.

 

Resolved:       that Cllr Phil Pearn be elected Chairman of the Committee for the ensuing year.

 

3.         DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:           

 

No declarations of interest were received.

 

4.        ITEMS FOR INCLUSION IN NEXT NEWSLETTER:

 

Members discussed items for inclusion in the next newsletter as follows:

                        Chemistry Pits Play Area

                        Community Safety

                        Village Hall update

                        Best Kept Garden results

                        Planting of bulbs at Wealstone Lane Playing Fields

                        Update on Play Equipment at Wealstone Lane

                        Youth Partnership event

                        Heath Road crossing

                        Handford Road/Newhall Road Mast

                        Village Quiz

                        Upton Festival Report

 

If space was available, then the following items could also be included:

                        Application by Morrisons for 24 hour delivery

                        Application by Egerton Arms for opening until 2am

                        Wildlife Area at Moston

                        List and details of areas managed by the Parish Council

                       

5.         DEADLINE FOR ITEMS:

 

Resolved:       that items be with the Clerk by Monday 22nd August 2005.

 

6.         METHOD OF PRINTING:

 

Members discussed the format of the Newsletter and felt that it should be less crowded than past editions.

 

Resolved:       that the Police Printing Unit at Winsford be used.

 

7.         METHOD OF DISTRIBUTION:

 

The Chairman reported that the Upton History Group were delivering leaflets at the beginning of October and that they may also agree to hand deliver the Newsletter on this occasion. 

 

Resolved:       (a)        that if the Upton History Group agreed to hand deliver the Newsletters then this method would be used.

                        (b)        If (a) is unavailable that the Standard Newspaper be used for distribution.

 

8.         DATE OF NEXT MEETING:

 

Resolved:       to be set at a later date.
