ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

The adopted environmental policy

By adopting an Environmental Policy the Parish Concil is setting out its own commitment to the environment and providng a corporate framework for developing best environmental practice within individual service areas.

Aim

The aim of the environmental policy is to maintain management commitment to the principles of environmental sustainability as a framework for the provision of Parish Council servies and activities.

Objectives

In all its activities and operations the Parish Council will:

1. Continually improve its environmental performance

2. Comply with environmental legislation and prevent pollution

3. Select and promote goods and services which are least damaging to the environment and work with suppliers to address such issues

4. Reduce unnecessary consumption of energy and

water, improve energy efficiency and energy conservation

5. Protect, conserve and enhance the areas in the ownership of the Parish Council and seek to encourage other authorities and agencies to to the same to the natural and built environment, safeguarding hereitage, habitat and promoting biodiversity

6. Raise awareness and understanding of environmental issues
